Woodwinds, Windcontrollers & Improv
30+ years in the LI/NYC music biz
performing, recording, teaching
& jamming all styles of music.
Playing since 1976, studied with Dr. Calandrino ala The Vincent Abato School
of Classical Sax Performance; attended Manhattan School of Music where
I studied from Prof. Paul Cohen; learned everything about jazz from the
great bassist Sonny Dallas ala The Lennie Tristano School of Improvisation;
jammed and had a few lessons with Lee Konitz whose influence is deep.
I started with the EWI in 1987, and have been playing Synthophone since 1996. I'm
very passionate about playing synthesizers and computers with wind controllers -
Synthophone, EWI, WX, Jamboxx, Casiosax, & Noseflute. Joe Zawinul,
Jan Hammer, and Wendy Carlos are huge influences on my synthesist's concept.
